Our Chess Boards are hand crafted in Featherston, New Zealand.
We take selected marble from Takaka in the western Nelson province and have it finely crushed and ground. It is then combined with coupling agents and hand cast from a hand carved wooden master.
The reproduction is so detailed you can see the wood grain reproduced in the plain squares.
We hand-paint boards to match a chosen set, but are happy to discuss a custom colour scheme if you prefer.
